Cumann Rince Dea Mheasa will constitute as follows:

    1. Annual Convention (A.G.M.)
    2. Executive Committee
    3. Regional Committees
    4. All Ireland Committee
    5. Members

Annual Convention


The Annual Convention will be held on or before the 10th September each year. It will be presided over by the current Chairperson as the last duties of their office year. The members present will elect new delegates to posts on the various committees. Each region should be represented by at least 75% of its members. Only the Convention shall have the power to add, alter, or omit any of the rules of the organisation.

 

Executive Committee

    • The Executive Committee shall consist of a minimum of 5 members. New members shall be elected to the committee by existing members. The number of delegates that may be appointed to the Executive are as follows:

1 – 10 members                1 delegate
11 – 20 members             2 delegates
21 – 30 members             3 delegates

    • Delegates may be elected to the following positions:

Chairperson
Secretary

    • The Executive Committee will be responsible for:

The appointment of Interview Boards
The appointment of an Examination Panel for the A.D.C.R.D.M., T.C.R.D.M., and grade exams.
Setting the dates for the Adjudicators and Teachers examinations.
To carry out and enforce the rules of Cumann Rince Dea Mheasa.
To set out the date and venue for the Annual Convention.

 


Regional Committees


Each member of Cumann Rince Dea Mheasa must be registered to a region. Delegates may be elected to the following positions:

 

    • Treasurer
    • Assistant  Treasurer
    • Child Protection Officer
    • Feis Registrar
    • Public Relations Officer
    • Website Administrator

Each region will be responsible for setting the dates and venues for their meetings.


All Ireland committee


The committee will be responsible for:

    • The selection of a venue
    • Ensuring that there are sufficient awards to be presented to the prize-winners
    • Setting out the syllabus
    • The employment of Adjudicators for the duration of the event
    • Securing sponsorship for the event

Members


Member shall mean an individual who, having fully completed the T.C.R.D.M. (Dance Teachers Diploma) and received the required qualifications has applied for and has subsequently been accepted to Cumann Rince Dea Mheasa. Members of Cumann Rince Dea Mheasa must be fully qualified Teachers (T.C.R.D.M.), Adjudicators (A.D.C.R.D.M.) or hold an equivalent qualification that is acceptable to the organisation. Each member must be registered with a region and are required to re-register each year. (There must be a minimum of 5 members to be considered a region. If there is less than that amount, members will be amalgamated to the nearest region)

 

All applications for new membership to Cumann Rince Dea Mheasa will be subject to a meeting or series of meetings with an Interview Board prior to acceptance to the organisation. (The Executive Committee will appoint the Interview Board) Cumann Rince Dea Mheasa has the right to refuse entry into the organisation any person(s) they deem unsuitable.


Terms of Office


The term of office for any role within the organisation is 1 year. Officers may be elected to serve 2 years in succession in any one role and 1 further year in a different role. Any member serving office for 3 consecutive years shall be deemed ineligible for election to any role for a period of 1 year. (The exception to this is for the roles of Treasurer and Website administrator)


Quorum


The quorum for the Annual Convention is 50% + 1 of the full membership of Cumann Rince Dea Mheasa. The quorum for the Executive and Regional Committees is 50% + 1 of the full membership of each committee.

 


Meetings


Executive and Regional meetings are to be held every 8 – 12 weeks where possible. The secretary will notify all members of upcoming meetings and will post out the agenda once it has been set. Items for the agenda must be sent to the secretary 1 week prior to the meeting being held. After the meeting the secretary will post out the approved minutes to each member.

 

Emergency Meetings


Either the Chairperson or the Executive Committee may call an emergency meeting at any time.


Expulsion


Should a member of Cumann Rince Dea Mheasa be incapable of fulfilling an elected role within the organisation they may be discharged from the role.
The Executive Committee has the authority to terminate any membership for consistent breach of rules or misconduct. However, a person’s membership shall not be terminated unless they have been given notice of accusations against them and have been given the opportunity to defend themselves. Any member who is in breach of the rules will be given 2 verbal warnings and 1 written warning before expulsion.

 

Voting

At any meeting a decision will be made on a majority vote. At all meetings the Chairperson will have the casting vote (they will not have a vote f their own). Voting by proxy shall not be permitted at any meeting of Cumann Rince Dea Mheasa. If a member cannot attend a meeting they must send their apologies in advance to the secretary. If a member misses 2 meetings is succession they will not be allowed to put forward items for the agenda, make proposals or vote at the next 2 meetings that they attend.


Subscriptions


The annual subscription (registration) fee for members will be paid to the Treasurer on or prior to the 1st September each year. A member who has not paid their subscription by the above date will not be entitled to a vote or be eligible for election to any role until said subscription is paid.


Feis Dates


The executive committee will release the dates for Feiseanna. Once the dates have been released members may apply for a Feis using the official application form along with the appropriate fee stating the dates of their first 2 preferences. Please note that any application received without the appropriate fee will not be considered. All applications are to be sent to the Feis Registrar by the 1st June each year.

 


Power to Make Regulations


All rules and regulations made hereunder shall be those proposed and passed at the Annual Convention. The Executive Committee have the power to implement new rules when the situation arises. However, these rules may be refuted at the next Annual Convention.

 

Examinations


Cumann Rince Dea Mheasa will host the following examinations annually:

    • Adjudicators Diploma (A.D.C.R.D.M.)
    • Teachers Diploma (T.C.R.D.M.)
    • Grade Exams

Adjudicators (A.D.C.R.D.M.)/Teachers (T.C.R.D.M.) Diplomas


The dates for the examination will be set by the Executive Committee and will be announced at the Annual Convention. Candidates that are suitably qualified may undertake the examination. All applications must be on the official application form. Applications for the above examinations must be sent to the Executive committee 2 months prior to the examination being held along with the appropriate fee.

 

Grade Exams


All teachers are to hold grading examinations within their class. Certificates are to be awarded to all dancers who pass each grade.


Class Venues


Teachers of Cumann Rince Dea Mheasa are not permitted to teach in the same venue as another teacher of the organisation.


Complaints


All complaints must be in writing and forwarded to the secretary and they will be dealt with accordingly.
